It was also the first time the 7th Group has held the toy drive in Northwest Florida. It was an annual tradition before the move from Fort Bragg, N.C., in 2011. Col. Robert Kirila, the 7th Group’s deputy commander and one of the first jumpers Wednesday, said the toy drive is a great way to reach out to the community. “This community has done so much for us since even before we got here, and they continue to do so much for our children, for our spouses and for us,” Kirila said. “The support has been spectacular.
